There is no assessment, ceremony or public register of title holders. The fort is also difficult to visit without planning, permission and a strong view on sea conditions.

Sealand is open about its status. It is a self-declared principality that no recognised state accepts as sovereign. Its titles carry no standing in another country’s honours system.
